Title: 4.2 Cleric Tank guide
Post by: (LaG)HateMosh on December 04, 2017, 06:43:41 PM
Soul Tree :

 61 Justicar / 6 Cabalist / 9 Shaman

 Legendary :
Justicar -- Hammer of Faith / Even Justice / Total Assurance
Cabalist -- Unbounded Obliteration
Last legendary is worthless

 Masteries :
Level 61 - Righteous Protection
Level 62 - Divine inspiration
or Benevolent Presence if for whatever reason you need more raid heals.
 Level 63 - Swift Judgment
Level 64 - Diversify
Level 65 - Soul Stream
or Divine Favor if for whatever reason you need more raid heals

 Buffs :
Mien of Leadership
Unbounded Obliteration
Courage of the Bear
Vengeance of the Winter Storm
Righteous Mandate

You can also use Mien of Honor when you are off tank and not taking any direct damage from the boss or adds. It allow you to heal a bit more and have roughtly 20% dps increase. And obviously, you won't steal aggro this way.

 Utility :
Interupt : Inderdict
Taunt single target : Provoke
Taunt AOE : Righteous Imperative
Taunt AOE & Pull : Rebuke
Intercept : Intercede
Battle Rez : Absolution
Charge : Ride the Lightning (Shaman)

Tank CD :
Damage reduction : Doctrine of Glory
Health & heal boost : Resplendent Embrace
Absorption : Just Defense
Full heal : Reprieve
Self heal :
Spoiler!

Mana : ...

 Raid heal rotation :
Doctrine of Loyalty / Even Justice spam

You can even make a macro out of it if you're lazy.

Damage rotation :
Spoiler!

That's all you need.

Things you need to keep on target :
Censure
Unbounded obliteration
(Cabalist - Damage debuff, use aoe spell on target)

How to take aggro when there is adds :
-You aren't full health : Soul Stream @self then damage macro
- Your raid isn't full health : Doctrine of Loyalty twice then Total Assurance & damage macro
- Everyone got full HP : Damage macro, put yourself between adds and raid, if adds walk toward raid use Righteous Imperative (aoe pull).
-If there is only 1 add just Provoke it then damage macro

Taunts are here in case you mess something up. It shouldn't be your main source of aggro.

 Stuff to know :
- Only heal with at least 4 convictions
- You don't have many CD, use them wisely and don't do a "panic use all CD at one button", please, don't.
- Cleric tank is quite gear dependent, a low gear will take huge slaps while a heavily geared cleric will doesn't see his health move.
-As other tanks just stack max health and endurance on your fragments once you reached 5K guard.

Version 1 :

Something about the macro for the damaging abilities spam:

You currently have it as:

Code: [Select]
#show Doctrine of Authority
suppressmacrofailures
cast Strike of Retribution
cast Precept of Refuge
cast Doctrine of Authority
cast Hammer of Faith
cast Bolt of Radiance
cast Reckoning

The problem is having both cast Hammer of Faith and cast Reckoning .

As those are both instant-cast abilities that are both of the GCD; the macro will never go past cast Hammer of Faith (top to bottom of macro/list); never casting Bolt of Radiance.

So, the macro should be updated to be either:

Code: [Select]
#show Doctrine of Authority
suppressmacrofailures
cast Strike of Retribution
cast Precept of Refuge
cast Doctrine of Authority
cast Bolt of Radiance
cast Reckoning

or

Code: [Select]
#show Doctrine of Authority
suppressmacrofailures
cast Strike of Retribution
cast Precept of Refuge
cast Doctrine of Authority
cast Bolt of Radiance
cast Hammer of Faith

Other thing to keep in mind: Reckoning is a single target, ranged ability; and Hammer of Faith is a multi-target, ranged ability.
